BabySTEPPs STEPPed out into Main Street on Saturday 22nd June 2013!
BabySTEPPs hosted their biggest event to date…Gibraltar’ first ever Pramathon. Vice-chairperson Louise describes “a Pramathon as a simple charity walk WITH prams so that all family members are able to participate and make this a fun, yet different family event. BabySTEPPs openly invited all participants young and old to come along and “push” something along the way. Whether it’s a pram, a wheelchair, a toy car, a toy buggy or those tug-a-long toys, BabySTEPPs urged the public to come along to make this a fun and memorable event”.
A fleet of Mini Coopers, courtesy of the Gibraltar Mini Club led the walk up Main Street, passed The Convent, turning right into Ragged Staff Road. Participants were then led into Queensway, right into Reclammation Road, through to Orange Bastion and back into Main Street via Cooperage Lane. The walk will ended back at John Mackintosh Square and overall, it took participants approximately an hour to complete.
BabySTEPPs would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thanks to all who supported this Pramathon event by either attending, assisting in the organisation of it all or simply by helping us spread the word on social media sites. To all the volunteers including the Senior section of Girlguiding and the 3rd Europa Scout Group…thank you!
Thanks again the support received from local businesses for their geneorousity and these include Gibtelecom, Oxy Ltd, AquaGib, Bounce R Us, All Wrapped Up, Gibraltar Mini Association and finally, Sound Reinforcement Systems for the live music and entertainment on the day.
BabySTEPPs are also grateful for the time spared by our local Government who dropped by to support the event. A special thank you goes out to The Hon Ms Ellul-Hammond and The Hon Mr Figueras who took part in the event and completed the walk with us.
BabySTEPPs are overwhelmed by and incredibly grateful for all the messages of encouragement and support received in recognition of what we aim to do for our local community.
